A Glimpse...

Lately, I have been really getting involved over at ScrapMatters. I've participated in their speed scraps, done a template challenge, finished (and was a randomly-picked winner) a Saturday special scrap, etc. I even set up my own gallery over there. It's been fun. It's a great way to re-charge my sometimes waning creative juices.

And here is a page I just did today (thanks to HD's TWO naps). Kind of a fun one to show off her little face.

Another Speed Scrap.

I haven't done much scrapping lately but these speed scraps are fun. I did my second one tonight. Here were the guidelines:

1. Pick 2-3 pictures, black & white or color, and arrange them in a line or a grid. That's kind of two instructions for the price of one. It was hard to get it down to seven total directions!
2. Pick your background paper—it needs to be black or very dark brown or very dark blue. It can be plain or patterned.
3. Place your pictures on your paper and stitch them down. You read it right—they must be stitched down. I don’t care how much stitching, but every picture has to have at least one stitch on it.
4. Title—Your title must contain two words and only two words. You can use a font or an alpha or a combination of the two.
5. Elements—Whatever elements you choose to use, must be tucked part way under at least one of the pictures. No floating elements!
6. Almost there—now use a definition to define one of the words in your title. It should also pertain to your layout—the dictionary is fine. It can be word art or just text.
7. Last one! For this LO you can’t add any real journaling, just your definition and names of people in the pictures and the date. Of course what you do with it after the speed scrap is up to you! But your definition should really cover most of it.

This is the first time I've scrapped pictures of myself. Stepping out. I figured that the Wasatch back was a good reason to do it.

Speed Scrap

I did my first speed scrap on Tuesday. I heard about it here and decided to go ahead. The speed scrap was hosted by ScrapMatters and it was so fun! Matt was in the office with me, entertaining HD so we could all be "together" while I had my head in Photoshop (thanks Matt!) I love these pictures so it was fun to get them on a page.

Word Art

I found this site awhile back. I have mentioned her word art on her a couple of times. She does such a great job. And, if you ask, she'll prepare one for you. So, I asked her to do a word art for "Ride Em Cowgirl" - this is what she came up with:

And this is a new one that she just did. I thought it was perfect for this picture.

Photoshop Actions.

I LOVE actions. I am not much of a photographer but I DO love to take pictures of HD. And I really believe (not saying this is fact...just a belief) that 90% of photography is in editing. So when I get a fun shot, I enjoy playing around with all the actions there are out there. I found these actions here. I had more fun with this picture than one person should be allowed!

Now the hard part is deciding which version of the picture I want to scrap. Let me know if you like one more than the other.

Scraplifting.

Scraplift Definition: Seeing a digital or paper scrapbook layout and copying some or all of the LO for your own use.

Sometimes when I just can't come up with an original idea, I like to browse through online digital scrapbook galleries for inspiration...or a page I can straight up copy. Both of these pages were scraplifted. I have provided links to the pages, but I'm not sure you can view them unless you're logged in. Anyway, thanks to the ladies who did these layouts and provided creative juices for mine.
